With the objective of changing the notion that we’re merely a school program, we created a striking and engaging design that would be memorable and interactive, both in-person and on social media. This was particularly crucial during the lockdown phase, when challenges were prevalent, so we came up with the Origami design.

During the lockdown, word of mouth and social media buzzed with greater fervor as people had more time on their hands due to lockdown restrictions. As a result, our refreshed email garnered a whopping 40% higher engagement rate as compared to our usual 21%. This was an impressive, considering the fierce fight for attention.

We devised a landing page outlining the step-by-step process for folding an origami Rhino, enabling users to share it on their social media handles and tagging us.

Longevity
The design held immense potential for future expansion of our brand. We toyed with the idea of introducing other animals from the kingdom, including the Big 5, to rival Checkers’ kitchen collectibles and plant ranges. However, we ultimately chose not to pursue this path.
Rhino and heritage design
Given that Heritage Day and Rhino Day fall on the same date, we merged the two themes into a single design. Consequently, the Rhino design was adopted as the fresh emblem for The MyPlanet Rhino Fund, a subsidiary of MySchool.
